Shades of Jeans

Is there such a thing as certain clothes and colors matching with specific colors of jeans? Does a dark blue teeshirt look better with a pair of dark denims than it does a light pair? Does a red shirt coordinate better with light denim than a green one?

Until I met my husband I thought denim was denim and the different shades of jeans went with everything. I've always subscribed to what I believed was a common idea that "jeans went with everything".

Apparently and according to said husband I am very mistaken.

I have ceased counting the discussions and arguments over this issue as he is convinced certain shades of denim only match with certain colors and styles of shirt. Even shoes. We had yet another one of these very arguements tonight because he asked me to wash his pair of very light jeans and instead I washed the pair of "somewhat light jeans". He said the "somewhat light jeans" do not match with the teeshirt he is wearing to work tomorrow and sadly now I had let him down in a most grievious manner.

Sadly I know I can't win these arguments nor make Jim understand how ludicroous his logic is especially in light of his fashion sense, or should I say lack of.

All this coming from man who's style is rather bland and often far outdated. Granted he's been getting better over the years but I doubt he'll ever catch up.

Light jeans, extra light, somewhat light, dark blue, medium dark blue, how does one know what foes with what?

Stripes, polka dots, patterns and textures, I get that nut sadly I guess I'm a dweeb with jeans. Afterall

Jeans go with everything.

Right????
